Parent support and services
At St Clement Danes we are fortunate to be able to offer a variety of helpful services and events to parents and carers.
We hold a weekly coffee morning in school which is well attended by parents from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Here, parents share ideas over coffee, develop friendships and offer practical help to each other with such things as baby-sitting and form filling. Outside speakers are invited on a regular basis to speak to parents about issues such as sex education and returning to work.
For children who experience difficulties in school or at home, support is offered from the Education Centre at the Marlborough Family Service. They have worked with St Clement Danes for a number of years, supporting our families to better manage their children’s behaviour. Currently, we have 5/6 families meeting together once a week in school, sharing their experiences of parenting issues and offering each other advice and support.
We also offer a Positive Parenting Programme, which again, seeks to support parents in helping them to make their children’s lives happier, as well as strengthening home/school partnerships. Research tells us that good parenting has a significant impact in raising a child’s achievement in school.
St Clement Danes also provides opportunities for parents to access support in the following different ways.
