Partnership with parents
Parents are very closely involved with the school and have give their support in many ways. We consider partnership with parents an essential ingredient for ensuring children's progress and sense of well being.
Informal events are arranged throughout the year and parents are invited to concerts, assemblies, plays and any performances.
Parents' Evenings are held twice a year to discuss children's progress. Attainment results are provided termly and a full written report is given at the end of the academic year. A weekly newsletter gives details of activities taking place. The Headmistress supports an open door policy and is always pleased to see parents.
The Parents' Association organises fundraising events. It provides an opportunity for parents to meet one another and for fostering school/parent relationships. The PTA is always willing to welcome new members. If you would be interested in joining please contact the School office.
A regular Coffee Morning is held for parents in Twining Hall by our Learning Mentor. This is an opportunity for parents to talk together about school life.
Where appropriate, the school makes every effort to use languages other than English when important letters and documents are sent home. We are always pleased to hear from anyone who can, at times, act as an interpreter and/or help us to produce letters, teaching materials, notices, etc. in children’s home languages other than English.
We aim to maintain good communication with parents by ensuring:
- the Headteacher is available every morning from 8.30am and at 3.30pm.
- all teachers collect and dismiss their class in the playground. This is a good time for parents to give a quick message or to arrange a mutually convenient time when parents and teacher can meet.
- the office is open between 8am and 4.30pm to deal with parent enquiries
- that the Governing Body is contactable through the parent representatives on the Governing Body or by leaving a message at the School Office.
