Welcome
Welcome to St Clement Danes Church of England Primary School, a school that is steeped in a rich history of more than 300 years. Our school's vision is 'to provide an anchor in life, so that all may have life and have it to the full'.
I hope our website gives you a flavour of the exciting learning opportunities and enriching experiences that our pupils absorb here at our small, friendly school in the heart of Covent Garden.

Our purpose at St Clement Danes is clear: to achieve academic excellence within a nurturing environment and through a rich and exciting curriculum. This means creatively stimulating and challenging every child, every day. We are proud of our caring, dynamic, inclusive and hardworking ethos where parents and carers are encouraged to work in close partnership with teachers and staff to ensure their child thrives.
Visitors often describe St Clement Danes as ‘a special place’. We really believe it is. There's a buzz about the place and a real excitement about the whole process of learning. This means that our children leave the school confident and happy, ready for the next stage of their education.
Each child’s development at our school is greatly enhanced by high quality adult support. We have a stable staff and children develop strong relationships with the adults who care for them from when they enter our Early Years, to and beyond their transition to secondary school.
Our children’s lives are culturally deepened by our extensive use of the school’s magical West End setting. Our children perform on the stage of Sadler's Wells' Peacock Theatre annually and regularly visit a wide range of local galleries, parks and museums which include Somerset House, The Royal Opera House, The Globe Theatre, The London Transport Museum, The National Gallery, the Tate and the British Museum.
The school has strong links with the Actor’s church (St Paul’s in Covent Garden) and the RAF’s home church, St Clement Danes as well as our own parish church St Mary-le-Strand. We welcome children of all faiths and celebrate the diversity in our school community.
The St Clement Danes Educational Foundation provides invaluable support to the school and this helps the school to provide each child with excellent opportunities.
Choosing the best school for your child is one of the most important decisions a parent has to make and a website can only give you a glimpse into the life of a school. We warmly welcome visitors and I would encourage you to come and see St Clement Danes and to meet and talk to staff and pupils. I hope our school video will also give you a flavour of what we offer our pupils and how you can become a part of the St Clement Danes’ family.
