A note from the PTA:

 

Thanks to you all for coming to this year’s ‘Maypole P.T.A Summer Fair’ and for making it a great event. The school had an international theme on this day and children came dressed in international clothes and colours.

On the day, a Caller and Accordion player from the English Folk Dance & Song Society came into the school to give a workshop to every pupil from Reception to Year 5. Children showcased their country dancing skills around the maypole set up at the summer fair. Children entertained us with:

Reception - Lancashire sticks with ribbons

Year 1 - Maypole

Year 2 - Lancashire Bells

Year 3 - Sheffield Garlands

Year 4 - Cotswolds Morris, small sticks

Year 5 - Border Morris and Maypole

Year 6 - Longswords

Meanwhile, the generosity of parents, carers and friends of the school was widely appreciated through attendance and spending but also via contributions to the stalls including international foods, delicious bakes, balloon modelling, glitter tattoos, ‘soak the teacher’ and pre-loved stall to name just a few!
