This term, Year 3 have enjoyed getting hands on with their Science topic on Rocks, linked to our class text, The Pebble in My Pocket.

The children explored different types of rocks and used their knowledge on sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rock to group the rocks they were given.

Later on in the term they created their own comparative tests to see which rocks were permeable.  They planned the tests in small groups, thinking carefully about how to make it fair and even had a look at rocks and minerals through a microscope!

To finish off the term, Year 3 learnt all about fossils and where they come from, before making their own salt dough fossils to take home.

Well done Year 3 for a term full of scientific curiosity and for your careful observations!
