Year 3 travel back to the Stone Age!
Posted on: 05/12/2023Year 3 have been learning all about the Stone Age this term. They thoroughly enjoyed their Stone Age day today, where they arrived into their classroom to find that a Stone Age camp had been set up!
Throughout the morning the children took part in Stone Age activities, such as making jewellery from 'teeth' and 'bones', grinding wheat heads to make flour using stones, cave painting and creating flint axes out of soap.
The children wrote diary entries about their day in the Stone Age and read them to the class from the Stone Age camp.
In the afternoon Year 3 discussed the changes in society as it moved through the Stone Age into the Bronze Age. They then learnt about the key changes in the Iron Age and the children had a 'Dragons Den' - pitching what they thought the best Iron Age invention was.
Well done for a brilliant day of learning, Year 3!
