Yesterday morning, Lisa Burlton, Group Manager at catering company Chartwells, visited our school to meet with the School Council.

School chef Hawa and Miss Coxhead also attended the meeting. 

The purpose of the meeting was to look at the new Autumn / Winter lunch menu which will start in October 2024. We wanted to hear pupils' views on the menu and the School Council did an excellent job of offering thoughts, suggestions and asking thoughtful questions - thank you to our school councillors who represented their classmates brilliantly! 

 

 

Decisions made in the meeting included: 

• The children decided they would still like ice cream in the Autumn and Winter on certain days, as it is a very popular dessert. 
• Fruit will be served separately, rather than mixed up in one bowl, so children can choose the fruits they like. 
• We won't have coconut in a dessert as some children are allergic and might accidentally pick up a coconut dessert from the dessert trolley.
• We choose roast chicken instead of jerk chicken as the feedback from children was that jerk chicken is a bit too spicy for them.
