This morning we welcomed a special guest speaker to our school assembly. Matt Smith, Head of Sustainability at Shaftesbury Capital, told the children about his career and how he works to make buildings better for the environment.

He explained how his company has to follow Government rules to protect the environment. In his job, Mr Smith is responsible for persuading colleagues and businesses to consider ways they can make buildings more energy efficient, using renewable energy sources, as well as improving air quality. Mr Smith studied geography at university. 

 

The children were fascinated to learn about Mr Smith's work this morning. Here are some of the questions they asked him:
