Sayers Croft 2024 - Day 2
Posted on: 01/10/2024On the Challenge Course this morning, Year 6 worked as a team through ‘Crystal Maze’ style challenges to retrieve a key and escape the course.
Before lunch, the children also sharpened their skills on the archery range!
This afternoon, the children ventured to the woods to find their way from one marker to the next, using their new orienteering and compass skills.
Next we headed to the Ballista range, where our challenge was to construct Roman catapults and use them to launch wet sponge cannons!
After dinner and a visit to the souvenir shop, our Year 6 history detectives visited two WW2 air raid shelters (one original and one replica). We learnt about what life might have been like for boys evacuated to Sayers Croft from their London school during the war.
We then split into groups to follow a glow-in-the-dark night trail through the woods.
Our happy campers are now all cosy in their warm beds and looking forward to more fun in the great outdoors tomorrow!
